Council of Despair?

After today's truly shocking revelations about the state of Grenfell Tower, when are the Commissioners going in to Kensington and Chelsea? Why has that not happened already?

The financially bankrupt Northamptonshire County Council ought indeed to be abolished. As should the morally bankrupt Durham County Council, with (as should have happened in 2009) the previous District Councils reconstituted as unitary authorities.

But with each of us voting for one candidate, and with the requisite number per ward elected at the end. That ought to apply to local government across the board.

Meaning the end of the weird, and profoundly anti-democratic, setup in many urban areas, where it is impossible to remove a council's entire membership in one night.

You know what you have to do, brothers and sisters. You know what you have to do.
