Like checking nationality before extending NHS treatment, voter ID means identity cards, the Political Class's solution in search of a problem since time immemorial. How could it not? Don't fall for it, on either count.
They are still banging on about how "students voted twice". Even assuming that any of them did, what, that many of them? We are governed by people who have absolutely no idea what this country is really like, and who therefore cannot begin to understand that, how or why Jeremy Corbyn won 40 per cent of the vote, deprived them of their majority, and came well within a million votes of beating them.
